Money News PH | With just 100 days left, preparations for the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) are moving full speed ahead. Slated for November 5–10 in Shanghai, this year’s CIIE promises more innovation, more inclusion, and more global opportunity—drawing exhibitors and policymakers from over 50 countries and international organizations, including Sweden and the UAE as guests of honor. Notably, Kyrgyzstan will be making its first appearance in the Country Pavilion, signaling the CIIE’s expanding diplomatic reach.

The 8th CIIE Corporate Pavilion is rolling out six signature sectors: Medical Equipment & Healthcare Products, Smart Mobility & Automobiles, Intelligent Industry & IT, Consumer Goods, Food & Agriculture, and Trade in Services. But what really sets this year apart are four high-impact innovations designed to elevate visibility and global impact:
- A new dedicated section for least-developed countries and an upgraded Africa pavilion, helping 53 diplomatic African partners maximize their zero-tariff access to China.
- A debut “Overseas Provinces & Cities” showcase, giving regional entities outside China a spotlight of their own.
- A premiere trail and exhibitor amplification section—designed to give global product debuts the buzz they deserve.
- The launch of a cross-border e-commerce platform for real-time promotion, business matching, and livestream exposure.
With 330,000+ square meters already booked and 170 companies returning for their eighth year, momentum is strong. A mix of world-renowned brands, first-timers, and innovation-driven startups are betting big on the Chinese market—and CIIE remains the door in.
Opening Up the Future: Hongqiao Forum and New Connections
Running concurrently with the expo, the 8th Hongqiao International Economic Forum (HQF) will convene under the theme “Opening-up for New Opportunities, Cooperation for a Shared Future.” Expect the release of the World Openness Report 2025 and updated World Openness Index, plus 20+ breakout sessions on everything from revitalizing global cooperation to sustainability, digital transformation, and China’s evolving trade ecosystem.
On the cultural side, returning side events will now include a new “Charming Friends of City” zone, inviting sister cities and friendly international provinces to participate in people-to-people exchange. It’s a soft-power showcase—and a warm welcome—wrapped into one.
