Money News PH | Globe proudly announced Team PA2CED from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) as the champion of its “5G Energy through the Student Youth” Competition: Building Craft Mission, held at The Globe Tower, Bonifacio Global City recently. The competition was designed to empower the youth to actively design the Intelligent Cities they will inherit, requiring teams composed of three Architecture students and three Computer Science/IT/Engineering students working closely together on a trailblazing project. This pioneering format successfully broke through single‑discipline limitations, producing high‑quality, practical concepts that showcased how Globe’s ultra‑fast, low‑latency 5G technology can enable sustainable, resilient, and future‑ready urban solutions.
Team PA2CED’s winning entry, L.I.L.O.M. (Living, Intelligent, Localized, Organized Manila), reimagined Manila’s heritage core as a digitally empowered district. By blending architectural preservation with real‑time 5G‑enabled sensors and AI‑driven urban analysis, the team created a blueprint that balances cultural heritage with modern resilience. Team members included Architecture students Paolo Catolos, Deric Santiago, and Aldrich Stanley Chang, alongside Computer Science students Charles Fredric Inventado, Eric Julian De Guzman, and Alexandra Antonette Palanog.

Six teams competed from Mapúa Institute of Technology, University of Santo Tomas, and Asia Pacific College, each presenting visionary concepts powered by Globe’s 5G technology. Each entry demonstrated how Globe’s 5G backbone enables real‑time data collection, AI analysis, and seamless connectivity, critical components for building intelligent, sustainable cities.
