YouTube bans Pornhub’s channel for “multiple” rule violations

YouTube has removed the channel from Pornhub for “multiple” community guidelines violations, Variety first reported. According to Google, Pornhub’s account violates YouTube’s external link policy, which prohibits users from linking to content that isn’t allowed on the platform, such as: B. Pornography.

“Upon review, we have closed the Pornhub Official channel after multiple violations of our Community Guidelines,” YouTube spokesperson Jack Malon told The Verge. “We enforce our policies equally, and channels that repeatedly violate or engage in infringing content will be terminated.”

Pornhub’s YouTube channel, which had nearly 900,000 subscribers before its shutdown, posted work-safe content promoting the site and its performers. The company also applied an age restriction to videos posted on YouTube, requiring viewers to be at least 18 years old, and “vehemently” denies that it posted or linked to adult content.

“Pornhub maintains the absolute best trust and security measures on the web, taking extra care not to violate YouTube’s Community Guidelines,” a Pornhub spokesperson told The Verge, who asked for doxing-related security concerns, to remain anonymous. “Unfortunately, this is just the latest example of discrimination against individuals in the adult industry, a trend that can be seen on social media and in all other facets of life, particularly when groups disingenuously associate consensual adult content with exploitation. “

The news of Pornhub’s removal from YouTube comes months after Instagram permanently suspended Pornhub’s account, citing rule violations related to nudity, adult content and sexual advertising. Similar to YouTube, Instagram also claims that Pornhub encouraged Instagram users to leave the site to view adult content. pornhub responded to the ban with an open letter criticizing Instagram for removing its “fully PG” account while other creators continue to post content with “nudity and overt sexuality with no repercussions.”
