The 19 Best Post-Christmas Sales and Deals (2022): Vacuum Cleaners, Phones, and Board Games

Whether you got a few gift cards over the holidays or are still buying gifts for people you’ll see later in the year, the post-holiday sales offer plenty of opportunities to cash in on your money. We’ve rounded up our favorite discounts below. Many of these sales are extended by a few days, but early purchase usually ensures the best availability.

Tech Offers

Google Pixel 6 Pro.

The Pixel 6 Pro (9/10, WIRED Recommends) has been on sale for a while, but the price has never fallen this low. Consider the newer Pixel 7 Pro first, but you’ll save hundreds on the 2021 model, which has an excellent 4x optical zoom camera, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a battery big enough to last more than a full day on average to hold use.

Don’t want to spend that much? The long-running deal for the Pixel 6A (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is finally over, but it’s still reduced to $368 ($81 off). Read more about these devices and their differences in our Best Google Pixel Phones Guide.

This is one of the better prices we’ve seen for our favorite vacuum robot. The Roborock Q5+ (9/10, WIRED Recommends) cleans reliably and quietly. The battery life is great and the little robot will automatically return to the dock when it needs to charge or empty its dust bin.

This is our favorite wireless gaming mouse. Not only because it has a USB-C dongle that allows you to connect it to almost any modern device, but also because it’s comfortable, very responsive and not cluttered with too many buttons.

Square Off Pro

Want to play chess but never have anyone to play with? This chess board is the answer. You can connect the Square Off Pro to the Square Off app via Bluetooth, then connect your Chess.com or Lichess.org accounts to play against opponents around the world. The pieces don’t move by themselves, but you see what movements they’re making via LEDs on the board, and you can then move your pieces to those positions.

As you’ll discover in our Best Apple Watch guide, the Series 7 is still perfectly fine to buy, even if it’s a 2021 model. Just make sure you’re not paying anything close to the latest Series 8, which retails at $499 for the cell model. Well you’re lucky. The 7 Series cellphone (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is an excellent smartwatch, especially if you want to stay connected to the internet when your iPhone isn’t around. Remember to factor monthly data charges into your purchasing decision.

This is an older model, but we still like the Garmin Instinct Solar (8/10, WIRED Recommends). It charges automatically when you’re out in the sun, meaning the battery can last up to a week on a single charge. Besides the built-in GPS, it also has a wide range of metric tracking capabilities. We don’t like the chunky design, but if you don’t mind a big watch, this deal is a good way to save some money. Our guide to the best Garmin watches might help you decide.

Logitech G915

If you spend a lot of time in Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, Blender or other creative apps, then this is a great keyboard. The buttons are raised for great tactile feedback, and you can plug in the USB-C dongle for a reliable connection. What is special are the macro keys on the left side of the board. With Logitech’s software, you can program these buttons to trigger custom shortcuts or even run scripts.

If you spend a lot of time on the bike, it’s worth upgrading to a Bluetooth headset instead of traditional wireless earbuds. This Freecom model has a nice scroll wheel that makes it easy to use with motorcycle gloves. Best of all, you can connect them to other Cardo headsets so you can talk to your friends while you drive (up to half a mile away).

We like Nova Launcher, and so does the rest of the internet. It’s a good way to declutter your Android smartphone and customize your home screen. Generally speaking, if you got a new tablet or phone as a Christmas present and have been wanting to check it out, this sale price is one of the best we see all year.

Offers for everything else

Dyson V12 detection

The Dyson V12 (8/10, WIRED Recommends) shoots a green laser at its base so you can see tiny dust particles you’d otherwise miss. Like most Dyson stick vacuums, it’s lightweight and easy to manoeuvre, easy to clean and you can even remove the battery. This is one of the best deals we’ve seen.

This sale happens about twice a year and generally offers the best prices you’ll find on Bath & Body Works products. Some highlights from the selection include 50 percent off hand soaps and sanitizers and personal care products for sale starting at $4. Shipping is $7, but depending on your location you may be able to select free in-store pickup.

There are hundreds of items to choose from in this sale, with discounts ranging up to half the normal price of a product. The selection includes many styles of LL Bean’s iconic duck boots, which tend to be expensive and not often discounted. (This particular style is not on sale, but we recently published a love letter detailing why LL Bean Duck Boots are awesome.)

Bonavita electric kettle with swan neck.

Photo: Amazon

This kettle is recommended in our Best Dorm Gear Guide and as a cheaper alternative to our favorite electric kettle. It usually costs at least $100. It is reliable and has a gooseneck spout for precise pouring. Added bonus: Kettles don’t wake the whole house with a high-pitched scream when your water is done boiling. Amazon Prime members get free shipping at Woot.

Prime members can save on two-month subscriptions to various premium streaming channels, including Showtime, AMC+, Paramount+, Starz, Cinemax, and more. These services typically cost between $7 and $11 per month, so whichever one you choose will save you money. Just make sure to set a reminder to avoid auto-renewal if you don’t want any more charges after the trial ends.

The holidays are over, but the kids still have a few days to go a little crazy. Stock up on the family game closet with this sale and save on classics like Uno, Jenga, Candy Land and many more. Add two items to your cart and the cheapest will drop in price even more.

Tentree parka

Tentree loungewear is both comfortable and sustainable. The brand is carbon neutral and emphasizes detailed notes on its materials, but our favorite part is the free tree planting. Each item sold comes with a code. Redeem it and the token will plant 10 trees in your honor. We liked everything we tested from the brand, but if you’re not sure where to start, check out the men’s Atlas Sweatpants and Highline Wool Crew Sweater. They’re soft and flattering and stay in shape all day.

AmazonBasics products are generally reliable (YMMV) and highly versatile. The private label can be found on everything from thumbtacks to charging cables and gadgets. Maybe you need a bed frame or new crockery. This sale offers both, plus several other pages’ worth of products to peruse. Prices start at around two dollars.

Girlfriend Collective Recycled Hat.

This is one of the best gifts for people who are constantly cold. The beanie is super soft and warm and also sustainably manufactured. We also like other gear from Girlfriend Collective. Everything is available with at least a 30 percent discount thanks to the brand’s Boxing Day Sale. Simply add items to your cart to see the discount during checkout. Get a higher percentage off when you spend more – 40% off orders over $200 and 50% off orders over $300.

Lush makes great-smelling, sustainable beauty and personal care products. His offerings are often expensive and are not frequently offered for sale. This Boxing Day sale is an opportunity to save half the normal price on all sorts of goodies, including a selection of the brand’s popular bath bombs.
