Gold coin proves ‘fake’ Roman Emperor was real

After the researchers determined the coins were genuine and that they had discovered what they believed to be a lost Roman emperor, they alerted researchers at the Brukenthal Museum in Sibiu in Transylvania, which also owns a sponse coin. It was part of the legacy of Baron Samuel von Brukenthal, the Habsburg governor of Transylvania. The Baron studied the coin at the time of his death and the story goes that the last thing he did was write a note that said “genuine”.
